Early morning risers

The sky was clear in the early morning just after 5 am.  Venus, Jupiter, and some winter constellations were an impressive spectacle rising over Snowshoe Mountain.

Venus, Jupiter, Auriga, Orion, Sirius.  Leica 9mm f/1.7 + Sparkle-6.

When I posted the above picture this morning, I was unaware that there are three planets captured in this image: Venus, Jupiter, and Uranus.  Uranus is near the top edge of the frame above the Hyades star cluster.  Here is an enlargement, with the planet circled:

Uranus (circled) above the Hyades star cluster.

Uranus is currently at magnitude 5.7, which means it should technically be visible to the unaided eye in dark-sky (pre-twilight) conditions.  My eyes are probably too old for that, but it should be an easy target with binoculars.
